DrawIng: Pens, Charcoals, and Pastels

 

This course is designed to help students develop fundamental drawing skills. Basic techniques such as blocking in the composition with pencil; shading with charcoal; and using pastels to create vibrant color will be explored. Students will begin by drawing a still life and move onto landscape and portrait drawings from photographs. In addition, students will examine these subjects using a variety of media (pencil, color pencils, charcoal, pastel, ink, and watercolor).
